CJR Policy on E-commerce
Book sales on the Columbia Journalism Review site are handled through the Barnes and Noble Book Benefits Network, a extension of the barnesandnoble.com Affiliate Network. We have agreed to offer books exclusively through Barnes and Noble, and in return we receive a (very) small percentage of all book sales generated through our site. All e-commerce and related activities are handled by the online and publishing staff, and have no bearing whatsoever on editorial coverage of books and/or the publishing industry. Book sales, while a source of revenue, are offered as a service to our visitors. By linking to a bookseller we are not necessarily endorsing any given book - links are offered on all book review pages, whether we pan or praise the book in question. Advertising on CJR's web site is available both through our in-house sales staff and through Burst Media.
